Voitin arvonnassa! - I won the lottery!

Täysin odottamaton yllätys - A truly unexpected surprise

Joskus posti yllättää! Osallistuin Nukkekotifoorumin jouluswappiin 2011 ja harmiksemme Chuckwallan lähetys hävisi postin syövereihin. Olimme jo unohtaneet koko jutun, mutta muutama päivä sitten se tulikin perille :D Yli vuoden myöhässä, mutta tulipahan kuitenkin ja ilo olikin täällä ylimillään :) Ties missä paketti on seikkaillut, postileima oli tosiaan loppuvuodelta 2011 :D Reilusti myöhästyneet kiitokset Chuckwallalle ihanista ylläreistä!

Sometimes the post office really surprises you! I took part in the Finnish dollhouse forum's Christmas swap in 2011 and to our chagrin Chuckwalla's package was lost in the mail. We had forgotten the whole thing, when the package suddenly arrived a few days ago :D More than a year late, but better late than never and I was thrilled :) Lord knows where it's been, the postage stamp is from late 2011 :D So my very belated thanks to Chuckwalla for these lovely surprises!

Pikku Nukkekotikaupasta pukki oli koukannut nämä Greenleafin vinyylilaatat, juuri sitä mitä kaipasinkin! Kuvassa yksi satsi, paketissa niitä oli kaksi, näistä riittää vaikka mihin!

Santa had picked these up at the store Pikku Nukkekotikauppa. They are Greenleaf's vinyl tiles, exactly the kind I've been needing! The pic shows one batch, I got two, so there's plenty of material there!

Gargoilimietintää - Gargoyle musings

Keksin että haluaisin ainakin Marvolo Manorin ja Potter's Peakin fasaadeihin gargoileja. Tuo ruskea mulla on ollut vuosia, mietin josko esim. Mold Makerilla vois tehdä siitä jotain versioita. Noita lohikäärmeitä mulla on kaksi ja oon suunnitellut niistä takkaa Voldemortille, mutta ois ne aika komeet myös Marvolo Manorin ulkopuolella. Mahtaako kukaan tietää mistä tota Sculpeyn Mold Makeria saisi ja mistä voisi löytää pieniä gargoileja/lohikäärmeitä, joko pelkkiä päitä tai kokonaisia otuksia?

I realized that I want to add gargoyles at least to the facades of Marvolo Manor and Potter's Peak. I've had the brown one for years and I figure maybe I could make my own versions of it using Mold Maker. I have two dragons but I'd like to make them into a fireplace for Voldy, although they would be pretty imposing outside the Manor too. Does anyone know where I might er and gargoyles/dragons, either just heads or the whole creatures?

Nämä pienet Potter-hahmot löysin huutonetistä. Ehkäpä Hermionesta voisi tulla Rose Weasley ja Harrysta Hedwigin kanssa Albus Potter.

Uutta matskua - New materials

 Ostin netistä satsin erilaisia höyläviiluja, tosi kauniita, tuo harmaa eritoten! Mahtaako joku tietää mitä puuta se on? Myyjän mukaan satsissa on puulaatuina mm. vaahtera, saarni, pyökki, sapele, teak, tammi, makore, 2 erilaista mahonkia. Ajattelin yrittää uskaltautua tekemään jonkunlaisia kuviopintoja jahka joulun jälkeen on taas aikaa muiden töiden lomassa.

I bought a batch of ultra thin veneers online. Beautiful, especially the grey one, I wonder what kind of wood it is? Anyone? According to the seller the batch includes veneers made of maple, ash, beech, sapele, teak, oak, makore and two kinds of mahogany. I'm gathering the courage to try my hand at some patterned surfaces. Hopefully I'll find some time for it after Christmas.
