Shoppailuterapiaa - Retail therapy

Viime aikoina on ollu vähän rankkaa ja mieli maassa - ihana Heli ja äiti järkkäs mut kirpparille käymään ja tosi huokeella irtosi iso kasa tavaraa - ja piristyinkin kaupan päälle :)

The going's been a little rough of late and today my lovely friend Heli and my mom arranged for some retail therapy at the local flea market and I found lots of stuff cheaply - and it raised my spirits :)

12 kirjaa kahdella eurolla, tommonen kiva lokerikko johon voi laittaa vielä paikkaansa etsiviä pikkuaskarteluja, posliiniset kyntteliköt joista tulee tulisijoja sekä vinttikoirapatsas:

12 books for 2 euros, a sighthound statue and two porcelain candle holders that will make excellent stoves. And a lovely little set of shelves that I can use to house small stuff that hasn't found the right spot in a dollhouse yet:

Satiininauha on äidiltä, moninaiset raamit ja vadit kirpparilta:

The satin ribbon is from mom, the rest from the flea market - brass dishes and lots of frames:

Satula, laatikko, sanko, egyptiläiset pelikortit, puutavaraa ja tommonen kummallinen rasia, jonka sisältä paljastui pieni lintu:

A saddle, a crate, a bucket, Egyptian playing cards, wood and a weird box with a bird in it:

Ei niin mitään havaintoa mitä nää on (tietääkö kukaan?) mut ko halvalla sai ja niistä on askartelumatskuksi, niin lähtivät mukaan:

I have no idea what these are, any ideas? They were cheap and good material for crafts though:

Potter-mania jatkuu - My Potter mania continues

Potter-kokoelmani on taas karttunut! Nämä aarteet sain lahjaks, tuhannet kiitokset!!! Suklaasammakkokortti, Potter-lautapeli ja pari kirjaa Pottereista - tietokirja sekä suomalaisen Potter-kääntäjän kertomus :)

My Potter collection has grown again! These treasures were a gift, thanks ever so much!!! A Chocolate Frog card, a Potter board game and two Potter books - one on the phenomena, the other the story of the Finnish Potter translators journey :)

Pitkästä aikaa pääsin kirpparille äidin kanssa ja saalis oli verrattain hyvä. Joskus kyllä hihityttää itseänikin kun kasaan sekalaiset seurakuntani tiskille :D

My mom took me to the flea markets and I got a pretty good haul. Sometimes I do chuckle to myself when I bang my bizarre odds and ends on the counter :D

A dragon and bits and bobs - the salt shaker and the bottle will become stoves:

Tuoleja x 3, arkkuja x2 sekä paplareita - Pat King käyttää niitä kirjoissaan huonekalujen jalkoina, ajattelin kokeilla:

Chairs x 3, chests x 2 and curlers - Pat King uses them as furniture legs in her books, thought I'd try it:

Kynttilänjalat meni osiksi, kello myös, loput on takka-aihioita:

The candle sticks I've taken apart, the clock as well - the rest are the beginnings of fireplaces:

This is all I got done over the last couple of months, apart from the fireplace I made yesterday. I still need to put finishing touches on these as well:

I've again gotten lots of gifts during the summer, most of them are in these pics. Thanks to all for these treasures!!

Paluu nukkisaskarteluun - Back to dollhouse crafts

Kesä on hujahtanut lähinnä koiranpentujen ja hoitomuksujen parissa, enkä oo juurikaan askarrellut muuta kuin lisää kirjoja. Nyt kuitenkin iski inspis pitkästä aikaa, tuloksena uusi takka. Se syntyi näistä osasista:

I've spent the summer mostly taking care of puppies and visiting kids and haven't really done mini crafts except for a load of new books. Now however inspiration struck and the result is a new fireplace. These were the materials I used:

Yritin muistaa ottaa kuvia prosessista, mutta loppupelissä se oli aika turhaa, koska rakentaminen oli niin sellasta pienistä hukkapaloista kokoamista, ettei kuvista varsinaisesti ole minkäänlaista hyötyä, varsinkin kun unohdin koko kameran puolivälissä projektia :D

I tried to remember to take pics of the process but really it was pretty pointless because it was just me building it like a puzzle from scraps, that the pics don't really convey anything, particularly since I forgot the camera halfway through :D

Oon melko tyytyväinen tuotokseen, sitä täytyy vielä viimeistellä ja katsoa päivänvalossa (hirvittää jo valmiiksi) ja se on vähän toispuoleinen, mut ei silti hassumpi:

I'm pretty happy with the result, it still needs some finishing touches and I have to look it over in daylight (dreading it already) and it's a bit lopsided, but still, not bad:
