Lempituotteeni Inka-Gold - My favorite product Inka-Gold

Mä lupaan, mä OLEN askarrellutkin, oikeesti!! :D Ne vaan ei ole valmiita näytille vielä. Sillä välin teki mieli esitellä teille näitä ihania värejä - mainittakoon, että hehkutuksesta huolimatta tämä ei ole mainos :D Harvoin ostan mitään tiettyä tuotetta ja vielä harvemmin hurahdan totaalisesti johonkin, mutta tässä se kuuluisa poikkeus joka vahvistaa säännön - Viva Decorin Inka-Gold värit <3

Tuote on saksalainen, mutta itse törmäsin siihen ensi kertaa vuosi sitten Jenkeissä askartelutavaratalo Michaelsissa. Sittemmin oon  hiljalleen ostanu/saannu lisää värejä, nyt viimeksi sain muutaman aikasena joululahjana.

Värejä taitaa kaikkiaan olla olemassa joku kolmisenkymmentä, mulla on nämä 16 ihanuutta! Koska netistä etsiessä oli vaikea löytää todenmukasia Inka-Gold värikarttoja, päätin yrittää kantaa korteni kekoon postaamalla nämä :)

I promise, I HAVE done crafts too, honestly!! :D I'm just not ready to show you yet. In the meantime I felt like showing you these glorious colors - I should add that despite the gushing, this is not an ad :D I very rarely buy a particular product and even more rarely do I fall completely in love with one, but this is the exception to the rule - Viva Decor's Inka-Gold colors <3

It's a German product but I first stumbled over it a year ago at Michael's in the USA. I've since bought or been given a few more and just got a few colors as an early Christmas present.

I think there are about 30 or so colors available in all, but I just have these 16, my treasures! I've found it very hard to find accurate color examples online so I thought I'd try to help out with this post :)

Koska mua on erityisesti häirinnyt se, ettei juurikaan oo löytyny kuvia, joissa samantyyliset sävyt ois vierekkäin jota erot näkisi selkeesti, otetaan lähempää vielä kerran - oranssi, kupari, laavanpunainen, ruusukvartsi:

Since what's especially bugged me is that I couldn't find pics of more or less similar shades next to each other for comparison, let's do that with close-ups - Orange, Copper, Lava Red, Rose Quartz:

Värit on myrkyttömiä ja mehiläisvahapohjasia ja todella riittoisia, pienikin määrä peittää hyvin isommankin alueen. Värejä voi sekottaa, niitä voi käyttää sellasenaan kohteeseen hieroen ja sitten kiillottaen (lakkaa ei välttämättä tarvita, riippuu hieman käyttökohteesta) tai veden kanssa kuten vesivärejä. Ne kuivuu nopeesti eikä tahraa kuivuttaan. Koska värit on vesiliukosia käsien, pensseleiden ja alustojen puhdistaminen on helppoa. Ja ennen kaikkea, värien ihana kiilto on upea! Joo, kuten huomaatte, oon aivan rakastunu näihin!

You can find more on the Inka-Golds on Viva Decor's website. In Finland I've ordered them from Heidin korttipaja, excellent service :) There are tons of fabulous Inka-Gold tutorials on youtube!

The colors are non-toxic and bees wax based and a little goes a long way as it has great coverage. You can mix the colors, rub them on your project as they are and then buff to a shine (most of the time you need no sealant, depending on the use of the item of course) or dilute them with water like you would use watercolors. They dry fast and once dry they don't stain. Clean-up is easy as all you need is water. And above all, the colors and the shine are wonderful! Yeah, as you can see I'm totally in love with these!

As seen in the previous post I also have the Metallic Rub Ons, but they can't hold a candle to the Inka-Golds!

Gilderoy lampsi Riddle's Rookiin kuin kotiinsa ja istahti isännän elkein Voldemortin tuoliin. Tosin, jos tuo tietäisi, kenelle tuoli kuuluu, saattaisi pojalle tulla pupu pöksyyn.

Gilderoy swept into Riddle's Rook and draped himself elegantly in Voldemort's chair. Although, if he knew who that chair belongs to, he might not be quite so nonchalant.

Shoppailua maailmalla - Shopping abroad

Joulukuussa vietin viikon ystävien luona Virginiassa, oli ihana reissu :) Ikävä kyllä budjettini oli kovin pieni, mutta pääsin sentään käymään askartelukaupassa! Kaikki oli paljon halvempaa kuin meillä ja harmitti ettei ollu törsätä enempää, mut tällaisen satsin ostin 54 eurolla:

In December I spent a week with friends in Virginia, which was lovely :) Unfortunately my budget was very small, but I did get to pop by a crafts store! Everything was much cheaper than in Finland and I wish I'd had more to spend, but I did get these goodies for 54 euros in all:

Bowtruckle Pinesin uudet asukit - The new denizens of Bowtruckle Pines

Bowtruckle Pinesin pieni velhoyhteisö on saanut uusia asukkaita - tai oikeastaan nämä kaksi ensimmäistä on vanhoja asukkaita uudella ilmeellä ;) Nyt Harryn ja Ginnyn kaksoset Remus ja Minerva ovat enemmän itsensä näköisiä!

The small wizarding community of Bowtruckle Pines has a few new denizens. Well, actually these first two are old inhabitants with a new look ;) Now Harry's and Ginny's twins Remus and Minerva look more like themselves!

Tällainen löytyi netistä kuudella eurolla ja ihka uutena! Tai no, ainakin käytämättömänä, tää nukke ilmestyi markkinoille 12 vuotta sitten ;) Ministinä on hyvä olla, kun koko pakkaukselle löytyy käyttöä ja pakkausmateriaalitkin asetetaan hellästi talteen mahd. tulevaa käytöä varten :D

I found this online for 6 euros, brand new! Well, unused at least, this doll came on the market 12 years ago ;) It's good to be a minimaniac, when even the packaing is gentlysaved for possible future use :D

This wee Harry is from the same series and was given to me used without the fiddly bits (in his case a broom and box) - I like this one a lot too!

Ja arvatkaapa kuka pöllähti paikalle nuoren testralin selässä? Professori Flitwickhän se, mikä IHANA ylläri! Thestraali sai hyvän kodin Pottereiden luota, nimi on vielä hakusessa.

And guess who flew in on the back of a young thestral? Professor Flitwick, what a LOVELY surprise! The thestral has settled in with the Potters, who have yet to think of a suitable name for it.

Gauheesti gargoileja! - Gargoyles galore!

Oli ihan pakko ostaa tämä goottilaishenkinen peli, ko halvalla sai. Ei tietenkään pelattavaksi, vaan noiden gargoilien vuoksi - ajatuksena koristaa Marvolo Manor ja Potter's Peak niillä kun pääsen julkisivuihin saakka.

I just had to buy this gothic game, having found it cheaply. Not that I intend to actually play it, but because I wanted those fantastic gargoyles for the facades of Marvolo Manor and Potter's Peak.

Tykkään näistä älyttömästi! Gargoilit on 6 cm korkeita ja todella upeita! Suunnittelin noita mustia Manoriin ja ruskeita Peakiin:

I love these gargoyles! Each figure is 6 cm high and they are just gorgeous! I'm thinking the black ones will be good for the Manor and the brown for the Peak:

Uusia ostoksia - New purchases

Löysin halvalla tämän Patricia Kingin nukkiskirjan - ennestään mulla on saman kirjailijan tulisijoihin keskittyvä kirja. Nää on aivan ihania, ohjeet on selkeitä ja sopivat mulle, sillä nekin tehdään kierrätysmateriaaleista ilman hienoja työkaluja ja hyvin samaan tapaan kuin itsekin piiperrän. Vielä en ole kerennyt kokeilemaan itse kirjan ohjeita, mutta se on inspiroiva ja innostaa kyllä näpertelemään, tuloksista lisää myöhemmin.

I found this book by Patricia King cheaply - I also have her book on stoves and fireplaces. I love these books, the tutorials are easy to grasp and are very similar to the way I work, with fiddly recycled materials and without specialized tools. I haven't tried the tutorials in the book yet, but just reading it inspired me to do some fiddling of my own, more about that later.

Ystäväni Tuija oli tosi kultainen ja haki mulle Tigerista muissa nukkisblogeissa hehkutetun pikaripelin ja näitä hammastikkuja. Eijulista keksi että niistä saa hyviä kynttilöitä, kiitos vinkistä! Lisäksi Tuija oli löytänyt kaks sulosta hauvaa, jotka nyt lämmittelevät Griseldan kanssa kaminan äärellä :) Suurkiitos Tuija!!

My friend Tuija was so sweet and picked these up for me at Tiger. I just had to have the cup stacking game after seeing it in many dollhouse blogs. Also, Eijulista had the great idea that these colorful plastic tooth picks make great candles, thanks for the tip! Tuija also brought me these sweet dogs, that are now enjoying the warmth of the stove together with Griselda :) Thank you Tuija!!

Lahjoja äidille - Gifts for mom

Tajusin juuri, etten ole tainnut näyttää teille näitä - ostin nämä äidille synttrilahjaksi sen Muumitaloon :) Ihastuttavat miniskoolit ovat Saaran käsialaa. Hitsi, nyt en löydä noiden muiden tekijöitä, saa hihkasta jos tunnistatte! Facebookin Nukkiskirppikseltä kuitenkin ostettu :)

I don't think I've showed you these - I bought them for my mom's birthday for her Moomin House :) The lovely "glassware" is made by Saara. Shoot, now I can't find the names of the people who have made the rest, but I bought them on the Finnish dollhouse fleamarket on Facebook :)

Käärmeennahkaa kerrassaan - Snakeskin galore

Löysin tämmösen 100 x 140 cm käärmeennahka pvc-kankaan seitsemällä eurolla! Tästä saa mm. komiat päällykset Voldemortin olkkarin kalusteisiin:

Kotitontuista - On house elves

Katsokaapa tätä! Löysin toisenkin kotitontun kuljeskelemasta velhokylän liepeillä! Ei, se ei ole edesmennyt Dobby, vaikka kovasti samannäköinen onkin, vaan Dobbyn ja Winkyn salattu rakkauslapsi Dinky! Ken uskonut ois!

Dinky, vapaa kotitonttu hänkin, on isänsä suuri ihailija ja jatkaakseen isänsä vapaustaistelijain jalanjäljissä, hää on ottanut itselleen sukunimenkin, nimittäin Dobson. Nyt kun Dinky Dobson on kyllin vanha työskentelemään, on se tullut Pottereiden luo tarjoamaan palveluksiaan ja Potterit tietysti ottivat sen avosylin vastaan! Normaalisti Dinky pukeutuu vallan vaatteisiin kuten isänsä aikoinaan, mutta tässä hällä on samanlainen tyynyliina päällään kuin isällään ennen vapautumistaan, koska Dinky tuli velhokylään suoraan naamiaisista.

Look at this! I found another house elf wandering at the outskirts of the wizarding village! No, it's not the dearly departed Dobby, eventhough he looks a lot like him, but Dinky, the secret love child of Dobby and Winky! Who knew!

Dinky, a proud free elf himself, greatly admires his father and to carry on the tradition of the freedom fighter he has taken a surname, Dobson. Now that Dinky Dobson is old enough to be employed, he sought out the Potters to offer his services and was, of course, welcomed with open arms. Normally Dinky dresses in clothes like his dad before him, but here he is dressed in a pillow case like the one his father wore before he was set free, as Dinky arrived in the village straight from a costume party.

Samalla selvisi, että tuo ensimmäiseksi esittelemäni kotitonttu ei olekaan Oljo, vaan Oljon nuorempi veli Ottus. Oljo kyllä palveli Pottereita monta onnellista vuotta, mutta nukkui sitten eräänä päivänä pois silkasta vanhuudesta - Reguluksen medaljonki yhä kaulassaan. Oljo oli ensimmäinen suvustaan pitkiin aikoihin, jolta ei leikattu päätä irti seinäkoristeeksi kun se ei enää jaksanut kantaa teetarjotinta.

Veljensä kuolemasta kuultuaan, Ottus saapui ottamaan tämän paikan, sillä Ottuksen oma vanha isäntä sattui kuolemaan ilman perillisiä samoihin aikoihin. Ei Ottuskaan mikään nuori enää ole, mutta kumarasta selästä, narisevasta äänestä ja rehottavista korvakarvoistaan huolimatta vanhus on yhä virkaintoinen ja pätevä kaikissa kotitontun moninaisissa toimissa.

Vanhaa kansaa Ottus kyllä sikäli on, että sitä vallan hirvittää ajatus kotitonttujen omasta talosta (jollainen Pottereiden tontuilleen tarjoama Dobby Downs on). Siitä johtuen sille on luvattu komero portaiden alta, joka Ottuksen mielestä paljon paremmin vastaa kotintontun pesää kuin makuusali, jossa muut kotitontut nukkuvat. Pottereillahan on vanha linna, jossa heidän mielestään on aivan liikaa työtä vain parille tontulle, vaikka koko perhe toki osallistuu kotitöihin. Muutkaan tontut eivät sentään omia huoneita halunneet - modernitkin vapaat kotintontut tyytyvät mielummin kotoisaan vähään kuin hämmentävään yltäkylläisyyteen.

I also found out, that the house elf I first introduced you to isn't Kreacher after all, but his younger brother Kritter. Kreacher did serve the Potters for many happy years, but then one day he died quietly in his sleep of old age - with Regulus' locket still around his neck. Kreacher was the first of his family in a long time not to have his head cut off and mounted on the wall when he got too old to carry the tea tray.

Upon hearing this, Kritter arrived to take his late brother's place, since his own master had happened to die around the same time and had left no heirs. Kritter is no spring chicken either, but despite his bent back, his somewhat quivering voice and his abundant ear hair, the old elf is still eager to serve and very capable in all that a house elf does.

Kritter is a traditionalist however and quite shocked at the thought of a house for elves alone (like Dobby Downs, the house the Potters offer their elves). He has therefore been promised a cupboard under the stairs which Kritter feels is a more approprite elf nest, rather than the bedroom the other elves sleep in. The Potters live in an old castle after all and they feel there is far too much work there for just a couple of elves, even with the whole family pitching in as much as possible. The elves were initially offered rooms of their own, but even more modern free elves will rather settle for something cosy and modest than alarming abundance.

Loistava kirja - A great book

Olen pitkään halunnut tätä kirjaa ja vihdoin löytyi yksi joka oli tarpeeksi halpa mun kukkarolleni. Tämä on aivan loistava kirja, hauskasti kirjotettu ja täynnä upeita, selkeitä ohjeita - ja mikä parasta, ohjeita joissa hyödynnetään kierrätystavaraa eikä niihin tarvita kummosia työkaluja! Suosittelen lämpimästi!

I've long wanted this book and finally found a copy cheap enough for my wallet. This is a fabulous book, well written and funny and full of gorgeous, easily understood tutorials - and best of all, the tutorials utilize recycled bits and bobs that are easily to hand and they don't require specialized tools! I warmly recommend it!

Uusia aarteita - New treasures

Mullahan oli vastikään synttärit ja viikonloppuna Heli tuli kylään - otetaan pian uusiksi! - ja sain ihania lahjoja! Posti toi Helin nimessä uusia asukkeja, nimittäin kauan haaveilamani Ronin (jonka mukana tuli taikasauva, sammutin - deluminator, mikäköhän se oli suomeksi? - ja Luihuisen riipus) sekä Hedwigin häkissään! Hedwigin mukana tuli myös kirjanen, jossa on Hedwig-aiheisia tarroja. Niistä ainakin pari päätyy tauluiksi :)

I just had a birthday and last weekend Heli came over for a couple of days - we'll do it again soon! - and gave me lovely presents! The postman brought, on her behalf, the Ron Weasley figure (complete with wand, deluminator and Slytherin's locket) I've dreamt of for a while now and the equally coveted Hedwig in a cage! Hedwig came with a booklet of stickers - at least a couple of them will end up as framed pictures :)

Heli toi minulle myös menoran ja upean pöllön, joka päätyy Hedwig Houseen. Äidiltä sain mm. tuon mäyräkoiran pikkuisen ruokakuppinsa kera :) Kiitos molemmille!!!

Heli brought me a Menorah and a gorgeous owl, which I'll place in Hedwig House. Mom gave me the key ring with the little Dachshund complete with a tiny bowl :) Thanks to both!!!

Tuija kävi puolestani Biltemassa hakemassa 10 kiloa sytykkeitä- suurkiitos avusta, harmittaa ettei Hämeenlinnassa ole Biltemaa! Tuijalta sain myös loistokapineen, nimittäin pienen viilan, juuri sellasta oon kaivannutkin :)

Tuija went to Biltema on my behalf (THANK YOU - so inconvenient that there isn't one here) and bought 10 kgs of these fire starter sticks, they're perect for miniature crafts! She also gave me something I really needed, an excellent small file :)

(Melkein) synttärionnea minulle - Happy (almost) birthday to me

Täytän huomenna kokonaiset 41 vuotta ja soin itselleni tällaiset minikoon synttärilahjat - makeita pääkallohelmiä Voldemortin sisustukseen ja suklaasammakkokortin joka on tosi hieno hologrammi, mutten onnistunut kuvaamaan sitä kunnolla. Nuori Ronkin liittyi taikayhteisöömme synttäreiden kunniaksi!

It is my 41st birthday tomorrow and so I allowed myself small birthday gifts - these cool pearls like skulls for Voldemort's interior decoration and a chocolate frog card that is a really cool hologram but doesn't photograph well. Young Ron joined our magical community as well!

Ai niin, nämä meinasi unohtua - minitelat, 10 erilaista 3 eurolla! Tulevat tarpeeseen kun ryhdyn maalaamaan Marvolo Manoria :)

Almost forgot these - 10 for 3 euro! Much needed for the priming of Marvolo Manor :)
