Todistettavasti elossa - Proof of life

Toisin kuin blogista voisi päätellä, mä oon vielä olemassa ;) Syksy ja joulunaika meni ihan huomaamatta muiden kiireiden ja rakkaiden parissa. Seinävaatteita sain syksyllä ommeltua:

Although the absence of updates would indicate otherwise, I am still here ;) The fall and Christmas season flew by, spent doing other things and hanging out with friends and family. I did make a few more tapestries in the fall:

Pienen joulukalenterivaihdonkin tein Äiteen ja Marja-Leenan kanssa. Molemmat sai multa materiaalipaketit (jotka unohdin kuvata, mut ovat nähtävissä täällä  ja tuolla ) ja seinävaatteet - Äitee punasen, Marja-Leena sinisen:

I did do a little Christmas swap with Äitee and Marja-Leena. I gave both a batch of materials (which I forgot to photograph but can be seen here and there ) and tapestries - Äitee got the red one, Marja-Leena the blue:

Täysin odottamaton yllätys - A truly unexpected surprise

Joskus posti yllättää! Osallistuin Nukkekotifoorumin jouluswappiin 2011 ja harmiksemme Chuckwallan lähetys hävisi postin syövereihin. Olimme jo unohtaneet koko jutun, mutta muutama päivä sitten se tulikin perille :D Yli vuoden myöhässä, mutta tulipahan kuitenkin ja ilo olikin täällä ylimillään :) Ties missä paketti on seikkaillut, postileima oli tosiaan loppuvuodelta 2011 :D Reilusti myöhästyneet kiitokset Chuckwallalle ihanista ylläreistä!

Sometimes the post office really surprises you! I took part in the Finnish dollhouse forum's Christmas swap in 2011 and to our chagrin Chuckwalla's package was lost in the mail. We had forgotten the whole thing, when the package suddenly arrived a few days ago :D More than a year late, but better late than never and I was thrilled :) Lord knows where it's been, the postage stamp is from late 2011 :D So my very belated thanks to Chuckwalla for these lovely surprises!

Laitanpa vielä kuvia omista jouluswapin tekeleistäni. Rudolf Koivun tauluja (leikattu lehdestä, kotilieden kansia 30-luvulta), kehykset sälematon osista, jotka oon leikannu muotoon jiirisaksilla ja koristellu kultatussilla, "lasi" muovia.

Some pics of my contributions to the Christmas swap. Paintings by Rudolf Koivu (cut out from a magazine - old magazine covers from the 1930s). The frames are made from bits from a wooden mat that I've cut into shape and decorated with a gold marker - the "glass" is plastic.

Hatturasioita, joiden rungot on pahvia ja jotka päällystin lahjapussin palasilla, kannen reunukseen liimasin koristenauhaa. Pienet käsilaukut ei avaudu - ne on ommeltu nahasta (kömpelösti ja käsin :D), täyte vaahtomuovia, koristeltu helmin ja koruosin.

Hat boxes - the frames are of stiff cardboard to whichI glued bits from a giftbag, the lid i decorated by gluing ribbon to the edge of it. The handbags don't open - they are sown from leather (clumsily and by hand :D), stuffed with rubber foam and decorated with beads and pieces from jewellery.

Lisää hatturasioita, tehty kuten yllä, sekä koriste-esineiksi enkeleitä ja huovasta tehtyjä "lumihiutaleliinoja".

More hatboxes, made as above, with decorative angels and "snowflake doilies" made from felt.

Huopamattoja, kahdenlaisia kynttilänjalkoja, jotka on tehty diabetesneulojen muovisuojiksista - toinen satsi maalattu punasella graniittimaalilla ja koristeltu helmin, toinen maalattu kultatussilla ja koristeltu strassein. Kynttilät on akryylimaalilla maalattuja grillitikkuja, joiden päihin liimasin mustat langanpätkät.suojuksista. Bonuksena kissat :D

Felt mats, two kinds of candle sticks: made from plastic diabetes needle covers, half of which I painted with red granite paint and decorated with pearls, the other half painted with a gold marker and decorated with bling. The candles are bits of grill sticks painted with acrylic paint, snippets of black thread glued to the ends. Cats as a bonus :D

Laitoin mukaan myös materiaalia: kangasta, kovamuoviputkia ja renkulan, sekä kahdenlaista keinonahkaa - mukaan sujahti myös pari pikkuruista hajuvesipulloa (ei kuvissa), josko niistäkin saisi jotain väkerrettyä.

I also enclosed some materials: fabric, tubes of clear, hard plastic, a metal ring and two kinds of faux leather - also a couple of tiny perfume bottles (not pictured) in case they could also be used for something.

Viime aikoina on ollut niin paljon kiireitä, ettei askartelulle ole jäänyt aikaa - pian toivottavasti pääsen taas työn touhuun. Sitävastoin meillä oli tosi mukava joulukalenteriswappi ja muutenkin on kerääntynyt paljon lahjoja ja muuta mukavaa - niin joulun myötä kuin muutenkin. Lately I've been much too busy for crafts - hopefully I'll be able to make time for it soon. We did have a lovely Christmas calender swap and I've gotten loads of presents and other stuff - both christmas gifts and gifts in general. Here are pics of some of those - my THANKS to you all <3

Next a motley crew - the duster and carpet whacking thingy (yes, that's the technical term) are from the Christmas swap, the cake is from Hyde and Sanja, the clay pots are from Sara, the crystal from mom, the Santa I THINK I bought at a flea market (?) and the rest of the treasures are from Heli :)

Swappeja ja lahjotuksia - Swaps and donations

Tämmösiä oon saanut joko vaihdoissa tai muuten vaan - miljoona kiitosta!!! Ihanan pirteitä ja käteviä liimapuristimia - ovat niin aurinkoisia että säilytän niitä lasipurkissa kirjahyllyssä :) Sekä nappeja, helmiä, blingiä ja pikkuruisia kulkusia jotka kilisee oikeesti! Ja hauskat siivet, tulevat varmankin thestralille :)

Here are some things I've gotten either as gifts or through swaps - a million thanks!!! Very useful glue clamps that are so sunny and cheerful that I keep them in a glass jar on a shelf :) Buttons, beads, bling and tiny bells that really jingle! And fun wings that'll probably become thestral wings :)
